The Pentagon is 16 to 20 miles from Lorton by road via I-95 North to I-395. During peak hours (0630 to 0830), expect 45 to 75 minutes. Off-peak, 30 to 40 minutes. Service members using HOV-2 carpool lanes can reduce this time significantly. For Pentagon commuters, the VRE option (40 to 47 minutes to L’Enfant Plaza) may be more efficient and eliminates the I-95 variable.
